<p>Start by a guided visit of Cremona, the world capital of lutherie, the ancient craft of making violins and other stringed instruments having given birth to famous luthiers and composers like Antonio Stradivarius, Giuseppe Guarneri and Claudio Monteverdi. </p><p>This tradition is still alive: more than100 liutaio workshops continue to practice this skilled work. Piazza del Comune crowned by Torrazzo tower, cathedral, baptistery and the town Hall is the core of the historical town. The guided visit inlcudes the violin museum and ends by listening the unique “voice” of an historical violin played in the local auditorium.</p><p>Cremona is also home to the traditional torrone nougat and mostarda a kind of fruit preserve spiced with bittersweet sauce. Enjoy a guided visit of his birthplace, of Casa Barezzi and of Theatro Verdi theatre before reaching the flat countryside of Po, the Italian Great River. Here a 16th century country castle has been restored to be the ageing site of Culatello ham for some of the world's great kitchens and prestigious names from chefs to princes!
